Socially Conscious Fashion Collections

I recently discovered VIDA while perusing Instagram. I was totally enamored with a shawl that looked like the sunset. As I do anytime I find a company I’m not familiar with I did my due diligence to see what their company is about and how their products are produced. I was so excited with what I found!

“WE BELIEVE IT’S TIME TO REBUILD COMMERCE – FOR THE MINDFUL, GLOBAL CITIZENS OF THE MODERN WORLD.”

This is the quote on their website. Need I say more? Yes… there’s more! They provide literacy programs for their “makers” who produce their products (currently in India and Pakistan with plans to expand). On top of that, artists and designers have the opportunity to create their own collections from their art. While the payout is small, the opportunities are large.

Once I absorbed all the information on their website I took the next logical step: I created my own collection! As a photographer I thought it would be so cool to see my work made into clothing. Like my two worlds combining into one. I would be honored if you would check out the products at http://shopvida.com/collections/meredith-harris. Shop the other artists products while you’re there too; there’s some REALLY cool items available!
